HOW IS TESTING FREE?

The CARES ACT ensures that COVID-19 testing is free to anyone in the U.S., insured or uninsured, provided that proper forms are completed and submitted. (THE HRSA UNINSURED PROGRAM HAS BEEN SUSPENDED AT THIS TIME BY THE US GOVERNMENT)

  • Those without insurance:  The government requires a Social Security Number and additional details for reimbursement.  We submit a claim directly to the government.
  • Those with insurance: The government requires that we submit a claim for reimbursement to the insurance carrier.  There are no claim penalties or copayments.  The government ultimately reimburses the insurance company.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of Covid testing is this?2022-02-03T10:57:08+00:00

We use the most reliable tests available, the COVID-19 RT-PCR test and the Rapid Antigen Test.  This is a real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) test for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2 in upper and lower respiratory specimens (such as nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs, sputum, lower respiratory tract aspirates, bronchoalveolar lavage, and nasopharyngeal wash/aspirate) collected from individuals suspected of COVID-19.

FREE PCR Test: We use a swab that goes inside your nasal passage to get a fluid sample. Test results are ready in 24-48 hours*.

Low Cost Rapid Antigen Test (Macon & Metro Atlanta): We use a swab to get a fluid sample from inside your nose. Test results are available in 15 minutes.

*test result times may vary during surge cases or outbreaks.
What is the difference between rapid testing and PCR?2020-11-07T23:02:41+00:00

Rapid tests test for proteins on the surface of the virus, not if the virus is present.  Our test, the rT-PCR test, detects that the virus is present.

How much does this cost?2022-02-03T10:56:22+00:00

The FREE PCR test is available at NO COST to you.  As directed by Federal Law, we bill your insurance company or the Federal Government for the test.  There are NO CO-PAYMENTS required.

Some locations (Macon, Georgia and Metro Atlanta Georgia), also offer at rapid antigen tests for those who need immediate results to return to school, work and regular activities. Test results are available in about 15 minutes.

*test result times may vary during surge cases or outbreaks.

How long will it take to get my test results?2022-02-03T10:53:46+00:00

Antigen test results are available in 15 minutes and to PCR testing results return within 24-36 hours.  The patient will receive a secure link to results in their email.  If you do not see your results, please call us.

*test result times may vary during surge cases or outbreaks.

What if I test positive?2020-11-08T20:17:23+00:00

If you test positive for COVID-19, a medical team member will contact you by phone to discuss the recommended plan of care including quarantine guidelines and CDC recommendations.
